Friday evening I had the pleasure to attend the Berliner Philharmonic. What an experience it was! I was invited to join a fabulous evening of classical music with my Berliner friend and his Papa. Little did I know I was about to hear the world’s number two orchestra. I now consider myself an orchestral enthusiast. Anne-Sophie Mutter, an outstanding German violinist, was the special guest Friday evening. Her presence and her music hypnotized the crowed as she led the orchestra. The musical selection was from Gabriel Faure, Antonin Dvorák, and Robert Schumann, all nineteenth century composers. These familiar names brought me back to the Physics of Sound and Music, a course I had in university, where I learned how physics and classical music are intertwined.
When in Berlin, I recommend the Berliner Philharmoniker!
